Drinking water fountains are to be installed in London in a bid to reduce water-bottle waste. This is a part of the New London Plan to develop the public realm in London. “The provision of free drinking water fountains helps improve public health, reduces waste from single-use plastic bottles and supports the circular economy through the use of reusable water bottles,” the plan states.
