The Central Bank of Nigeria has announced a change in the country’s currency notes. Nigerians have been instructed to pay in all ‘old’ currency notes to banks in the country before February 10, 2023.
However, there are no plans for Nigerians living abroad who have the national currency in their possession.
In the United Kingdom, there is an estimated 178,000 Nigerian immigrants who are at risk of losing money on account of this change.
