The British fashion community and the world’s most prominent creatives in the industry will reunite tonight in London for the Fashion Awards 2022, a fundraiser for the British Fashion Council.
Presented by Diet Coke, the Fashion Awards 2022 will be hosted by British-Jamaican actress Jodie Turner-Smith at the Royal Albert Hall.
In an interview for ELLE UK Turner-Smith revealed that she “started as a model, so to be asked to be part of this conversation, acknowledging designers that are changing the world, is exciting.”
The awards Red Carpet is set to open with a live performance from singer Olivia Dean. A livestream of the Red Carpet will be available on YouTube at 6:15 PM GMT.

The Fashion Awards raises funds for the British Fashion Council (BFC) Foundation, a registered charity aiming to support the growth and success of British fashion creatives.
Over the years, the BFC has been dedicated to putting the spotlight on British fashion by championing diversity and inviting the industry to participate in a network of sustainable, successful and avant-garde brands.
Prize categories at The Fashion Awards 2022
The following categories will be hounored at The Fashion Awards 2022: Outstanding Achievement Award, Model of the Year, Designer of the Year, Independent British Brand, BFC Foundation Award, Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, Metaverse World & Gaming and the Special Recognition Award for Cultural Curation.
This year’s Outstanding Achievement Award will be presented to Yvon Chouinard, founder and former owner of Patagonia. Chouinard’s incredible vision and longstanding devotion to environmentalism will be honoured by the prestigious prize. Previous winners of this award include Miuccia Prada, Ralph Lauren KBE, Dame Anna Wintour and many other illustrious names of the industry.
The Model of the Year Award makes its comeback in 2022 since its last appearance in 2019. The nominees for this category are Adut Akech, Bella Hadid, Lila Moss, Paloma Elsesser and Quannah Chasinghorse. This Award recognises the global impact of a model over the last 12 months as well as their influences on the world beyond the runway.
The selection of nominees for the Model of the Year Award portrays the redefinition of the modern-day supermodel: Paloma Elsesser is a plus-size model, and Quannah Chasinghorse is an Indigenous model and activist.
The nominees for the Designer of the Year award are Jonathan Anderson for JW Anderson and Loewe, Matthieu Blazy for Bottega Veneta, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons for Prada and Pierpaolo Piccioli for Valentino.
