A grand pile of rubbish: Infestation fears in student accommodation

Mountains of rubbish bags have piled up outside a student accommodation block in north-west London, sparking fears of a possible rat infestation.

Grand Felda House in Wembley is operated by CRM Students, a private company which charges students up to £494 pounds a week.

But footage reveals that residents are far from living in luxury.

Hundreds of rubbish bags had been collected on a rooftop, which forms part of the block. The litter included shopping bags, discarded food items, plastic bottles, cardboard boxes and takeaway containers.

A clip showing the mess was posted by mother Jaquie Finn on the social media platform X, alongside a message describing the scene as a ‘health and safety nightmare’. Finn also suggested that the building had a rat infestation. This has led to outrage over the poor sanitation of a block which claims to be run by the leading student accommodation provider.

The building’s management team declined our request for comment.
