“What were you doing all summer?” Dec throws shade to Ant during I’m A Celeb launch show

Ant and Dec were back to their normal selves from the start of last night’s launch of the hit Australian based reality TV show.

Welcome a posh reality star, a feisty footballers wife and a famous dad in the midst of it all was the infamous pair Ant and Dec.

After opening up to The Sun about his how his depression led to an addiction to prescription drugs, and an ongoing battle with alcohol and substance abuse, we didn’t think Ant would make it to this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here show.

The Geordie duo didn’t shy away from the elephant in the room, with Dec addressing previous rumours that Ant was going to be replaced after he went into rehab to deal with his addiction to prescription medication.

At the beginning of the show he said: “Welcome to Australia, we are back, and here for the next three weeks.”

Then referring to the hosts: “Your hosts with the most, me and the gorgeous Holly Willoughby… oops!”

Dec pretended to be shocked by his slip of tongue.

Ant started to look confused while Dec was trying to tell the camera crew they had “put the wrong script in” before adding a sly dig to Ant: “Nobody was sure if you would make it or not.”

Too soon?

Ant found humour in the statements as he laughed it off and even offered Dec a hug!

“Unbelievable! I was always going to make it, come on, I’m back my friend!”

It was good to see Ant able to laugh about his mishap as Dec continued to hint at Ant’s problems throughout the show.

The blunders didn’t stop there as Dec made one more reference to Ant’s rehab stint.

Dec said: “Where were you all summer?” while Ant continued to look on and pretend to not listen to what Dec was saying.

We are glad the presenters are back together and more importantly that Ant is healthy and happy.
