The 88th Academy Awards kicked off last night with host Chris Rock taking the helm this year. Alejandro G. Iñárritu's The Revenant was the favourite to win Best Picture but with a surprise win from Spotlight and Leonardo DiCaprio's Best Actor win it all made for a rather exciting ceremony. Revenant wins big at 2016 BAFTAs

The Revenant, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy has scooped up many of the awards in the major categories at the BAFTAs this evening. The film took best director, best picture, best sound, best cinematography and best actor for Leonardo DiCaprio. The BAFTAs, one of the most prestigious awards ceremony ahead of the Academy Awards, honoured Alejandro González Iñárritu's the Revenant with five big awards at the ceremony this evening. The film, based on true events, focuses on a wilderness survival tale with Leonardo DiCaprio starring as the main character Hugh Glass. DiCaprio's harrowing portrayal of the character was rewarded with a best actor award and with The Telegraph calling it his "b

Deadpool to be rated 15 in the UK

Photo credit: 20th Century Fox.  Marvel's new film Deadpool is to be rated 15 in the UK for "strong bloody violence, strong language and sexual references" states the British Board of Film Classification. Ryan Reynolds is set to star as Deadpool in the new unconventional comic book film hitting UK screens on 10th February. The film, which according to the BBFC offers strong violence and language, is the first Marvel cinema adaption to gain an age rating of 15. Marvel's previous films such as The Avengers, Iron Man and Captain America have generally been rated around the 12, 12A mark. It seems that 20th Century Fox and Marvel are stepping away from the child friendly super-hero film style with this new film. In comparison, as The Independent states th
