Tottenham Hotspur recorded 16th win of the season. Team of Mauricio Pochettino remains five points behind leaders Leicester City.
The game was already over before it had really started. After just 44 seconds Harry Kane extended a cross of Kyle Walker behind Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc to give Spurs the lead. It was the start of a very comfortable afternoon in where the home team put in a strong and convincing performance. Fifteen minutes after the 1-0, Harry Kane doubled the score and his goal telly for the day. Dele Alli put him in front of Boruc, after which Kane finished the ball in the far right corner. It was his 21st goal of the season, which made him the fifth Englishman to score more than 20 goals in consecutive Premier League seasons.
5 – Harry Kane has become the 5th Englishman to score 20+ goals in consecutive PL seasons (Cole, Ferdinand, Fowler & Shearer). Glory.

After the break, in where Spurs were leading 2-0, the home side continued their attacking play, which resulted quickly in a third goal. This time it was Christian Eriksen who scored. The Danish midfielder tapped home a rebound of a shot from Harry Kane. Tottenham then got chances to increase the score, but didn’t manage to extend the lead. Nevertheless they were impressive and put in one of their best performances of the season.
After the match, manager Mauricio Pochettino was very pleased as well. “When you come through a very busy period, playing a lot of games as we have over the last few weeks, you can feel very proud.” The win means Spurs remain second in the league with five points behind Leicester City. There are seven more games to play, and for Spurs there are two difficult matches coming up (away to Liverpool and at home to Manchester United). But after today’s win they should be confident they can get a result in those games.
