Sir Elton John expressed his “shock” at the sudden death of his mother. The “Candle in the Wind” singer took to Instagram to announce the death, sharing a photo and tribute. The photo has drawn support from A-list friends all over the world including Victoria Beckham, Kate Bekingsdale, and Naomi Campbell. Campbell a close friend to the singer commented “Dear Elton my condolences to you and David and your family. Sorry for your loss”
Ms. Farebrother who was 92 years old had a troubled relationship with her son. Their bitter eight-year feud was made public in 2008, admitting in 2015 that (Elton) “hated her”. It is thought that their fall out came after she failed to end friendships with two individuals at Sir Elton’s request. It is widely known that throughout this period the singer still provided financial support. Later telling the Rolling Stone magazine “To be honest with you, I don’t miss her,” he said. “I look after her, but I don’t want her in my life.”
However, It was revealed in May that the pair had reconciled. As Sir Elton took to Instagram saying he was “happy they are back in touch” posting a picture of the two of them on mother’s day.
