The last weekend in January is upon us and the silver screen is a buzz with lots of big hits to keep you occupied this weekend.

Some films to take note of as we gear up for February are:

1. Goosebumps – R.L Stine’s best selling children’s horror tales are finally being brought to life and with a twisted sense of humour thanks to the main star, Jack Black. Rolling Stone’s magazine mentions the movie as a ‘good time’, but will only adhere to the goosebumps audience. If you did read these tales in your younger years, this film should be your top choice this weekend. Watch the trailer here.

Opening night – 30/01/2016.

2. 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi – This film is about the 2012 attack on the American diplomatic mission in Libya. An action movie based on a true story is bound to tug on some hearts. Directed by Michael Bay of the Transformers franchise, this film promises to keep you glued to your seats if not holding your breath at every explosion. Watch the trailer here.

Opening night – 29/01/2016

3. Spotlight – Rachel McAdams along others, make the great cast of this triple nominated film. The plot revolves around Boston Globe journalists who investigate a cover up of sexual abuse in a Catholic church. The story is heart wrenching and gripping according to the New York Times, a film for anyone looking for a drama filled weekend. Watch the trailer here.

Opening night – 29/01/2016
