Music: A Space for Liberation, Unity and Therapy

The history of music can be traced back to the 18th century and since then it has grown and evolved over centuries. Today, Music is much more than entertainment. It is applied in the field of fitness to help on focus and remain relaxed at the same time at is also used to create mood shift by many ruling class party to gain political power. This shift in emotion created by music also plays a bigger role in in treating various mental conditions such as autism and dementia. Music here, is used as a therapy to improve their mental state by engaging in activates such as singing or playing instruments which include drums or pianos.

It is applied in almost every other field and we, knowing or unknowing get influenced by it. In this documentary you will hear from Dave Randall- musician, political activist and the author of Sound System: Political Power of Music- who will talk about the music in the political world. Zumba instructor, Theresa Miller- explains the emotional shift music brings in.

We will also hear from Jane Bryant, Trustee of Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, Richard Bennet and Jenny Tabori- Music therapists who gives an insight about what happens during each session and how it brings an impact on one’s body and mind
