London gets excited for Star Wars premiere Wednesday

“Star Wars 7: The force awakens” will premiere this Wednesday, 16th December in Central London.

While the premiere will be on Wednesday 16th December, London, the exact location remains unconfirmed but it is said it will take place in central London. The press pens will open at 4:45 and 6:30 the celebrities will arrive.

These will include Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Gwendoline Christie, Warwick Davies and Simon Pegg will all walk the red carpet, along with director J.J. Abrahams.

The seventh instalment will be hit UK cinemas on 17th December with central London cinemas starting show times at midnight; BFI IMAX in London showing it at 12.01am, Empire Leicester Square IMAX IMAX®3D at 12:05am and Odeon Swiss Cottage IMAX at 12.01am.

With only two days left until London premiere, the fans are bursting with excitement.

The anticipation for the latest Star Wars instalment has been brewing since the official trailer was released earlier this year. As days ticked by fans were awarded with more clips and extended version of the trailer. It’s safe to say that the unrest has reached its boiling point with the movie’s premiere in LA to take place tonight.

Some fans have camped out from 5th of December outside TCL Chinese Theatre in LA enduring the rain and the cold all to make sure they witness the premiere first. While two other fans are due to get  married in the queue just before they see the premiere. Many more fans flew across the world from Australia and Europe and China to LA just to be the first ones to witness the movie premiere this Monday night.

The ticket sales in UK have been breaking records, with the advance sale tickets that were released in October already sold out. The movie is expected to be the biggest box sale this year. IMAX revealed it took 6.5 million in ticket sales on  single day.

Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX Entertainment told the Hollywood Reporter:

“The only words to describe the first day of IMAX worldwide advance ticket sales for Star Wars: The Force Awakens are ‘record-shattering.We’re seeing sell-outs across the board – from Hollywood to London, to Sparks, Nevada and everywhere in between.”

London is buzzing with Star Wars 7 excitement with stormtroopers and jedis decorating the streets, shopping centres and toy shops. Fans have been posting photos from all over London.
