EasyJet has suspended for summer 2016 all flights to Sharm el-Sheikh from Manchester, Luton and Gatwick but it opened a new route from London Southend Airport to Paris.
After a bomb was smuggled into a Russian flight at the Egyptian airport, all flights between UK and Sharm el Sheikh were suspended since November 4, by following UK Government advice.
However, if the UK Government will give the ‘go ahead’, the British airline will resume the flights to Red Sea from Stansted airport from May 29.
“We have no confirmation from the UK Government that we will be able to resume flights yet, but if we are these will be the only EasyJet flights to Sharm el-Sheikh this summer,” a spokesman said today.
While the waiting for the resume of flights to the Egyptian destination could be till the winter season of October 2016, EasyJet is getting ahead with a new route.
Easy jet has opened a new route, which departs from London Southend Airport to Paris, and today to celebrate in a Parisian spirit the new flight, were the EasyJet crewmembers.
Brera (@tracybrera) tweeted: “You can-can now fly to Paris from @SouthenAirport with @easyjet!”
And she also added: “ Ooh la la! easyJet crew getting in the Parisian spirit ahead of first flight on the new London Southend route.”
