Before the release of ‘Spectre’ in 2015, the 47 year-old actor said that he would rather ‘slash his wrist’, rather than reprise the role of Agent 700. War and Peace actor James Norton is his probable replacement. Other possible candidates for this role are: Idris Elba, Hardy and Henry Cavil reports The Independent.

After playing the character for 10 years, Craig will make his debut on American television. He is starring in the TV series ‘Purity’, which is an adaption of the novel of the same name. The book was written by American novelist Jonathan Franzen. The series consists of 20 episodes and will be co-written by Franzen and Todd Field, who also wrote In The Bedroom, according to Deadline.

As a response to this, has been trending on Twitter. British snooker player, Shaun Murphy has expressed an interest in the role as well.
