A petition to commute whistleblower Chelsea Manning’s 37-year prison sentence has received over 100,000 signatures, hitting the target needed to prompt a response from the White House. Manning, a former United States Army soldier whose leak of classified files lead to the exposure of human rights abuses by the US Army, including the death of two Reuters reporters, is in her eighth year of incarceration. By surpassing the 100, 000 signature threshold, the petition, created on November 14, could expect a response from the White House within 60 days. Manning, who has spent more time in imprisonment than any whistleblower in US history, tweeted: "We did it! Thank you so much for your love and support. =)”. A Russian military officer has blamed the three powers for killing and injuring Russian medical personnel in Syria. Report says two medics were killed and one doctor was seriously wounded in a shelling of the government-held part of Aleppo. The bombs hit the medical centre of a Russian mobile military hospital, and an unspecified number of local residents who were at the hospital were also wounded. Russia’s Defense Ministry spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov told journalists about the shelling in Moscow on Monday. As not only has she stopped tweeting but her account has also abruptly been deleted. Bana, seven, one the many vulnerable children in Aleppo but still unique for her well known connections through  social media has disappeared. Prime minister Shinzo Abe is to visit Pearl Harbor, becoming the first Japanese leader to go to the site since the Japanese attack on US soil in 1941. Mr. Abe will visit on 27 December with US President Barack Obama to the US naval base in Hawaii where Japanese forces launched an attack and killed 2,300 US servicemen.
